Welcome to "Old Swardeston"
The Swardeston History Site
Swardeston is a village in South Norfolk situated some 4 miles south of the city of Norwich, England. It straddles the Norwich to New Buckenham turnpike (now the B1113) but as recently as the early 1900s was concentrated almost entirely to the west of this road with virtually all development surrounding its 54 acre common.
This website is being produced to provide an accessible home for the considerable archive of material that has been, and is still being, accumulated concerning our village and its people.
Due to a lack of resources of both time and finance this site will be published in stages as and when time allows. The box to the right will be updated to indicate those sections where content has been added to hopefully avoid the user being assailed by numerous "Under Construction" notices.
